I’ve sat here today playing around with yarn and decided to have a go at my own C2C pattern.
If you’ve never worked a C2C before, I recommend going over to YouTube. There are some amazing tutorials over there showing you step by step what to do. My personal favorite teacher is Bellacoco. I found her tutorials straight forward and very easy to understand.
You can use any weight yarn you like. Just follow the ball band to use the correct hook size to correspond to the yarn.
For my window hanging, I used a 3.5mm hook (uk size) and dk yarn from my stash. I worked a simple sc, ch2 border around the finished piece to finish it off nicely, but you could add any border you fancy.
I had a lot of time on hands today and it took me about two movies (Rocket Man and Bohemian Rhapsody) to make it! So let’s say 4/5 hours of solid obsessive work 😘
I’m going to hang mine up tomorrow in my front window to show support for our amazing NHS workers on the front line. I appreciate absolutely every key worker role and indeed I hold one myself. But the NHS is standing right on the front line. I can’t thank each and every one of them enough for their bravery and courage.
I hope you enjoy following the chart and I’d really love to see your makes. Please tag me over at Instagram @craftylittlerach It would make my little heart really happy knowing we were all hanging these in our windows or cars!
Anyway, goodnight from me.
Sending all my love and best wishes to you and your family. Stay safe everyone ❤️🙏 🌈
My beautiful nan passed away last week on wednesday. At the time my practical side kicked in and I seemed to be just stuck in this haze of doing things to keep busy.
I found that last night was the first time that it really hit me that she was gone.
It was when I opened up a bag. Inside the bag were two shawls that I had made for her well over a year ago.
I looked into bag almost not wanting to see them, but then instantly pulled them to my face and took deep breath try to smell her. The essence of her hit my nose and the tears flowed.
I will never again get to have her arm linked in mine, to be dragged around the supermarket marvelling at the choice, to sit watching her in her chair knitting away, to have her wise words when I was in doubt, to have her hand stroke my hair and tell me how much she loved me, to have her smiling at my children and telling me how wonderful they were and how lucky she was to have so many grandchildren in her life.
There are so many wonderful memories I will treasure.
The whole she leaves in my heart is so very big. But my heart is also full. Full of love and respect for her. I will always carry this amazing lady in my heart.
I want to thank everyone for their kind wishes, for the help and kindness they have offered to me and to my family at this sad time.
The lazy girls way to make a giant ball of yarn for the #lottieandalbertrainbowblanket 🤣 @lottieandalbert
l decided to cake them all and then blend. I must say, it was very quick!
